Kirk G. Huldeen

Kirk Gerald Huldeen, 65, died at home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Sioux City, IA.

A memorial service will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior.

Kirk was born April 24, 1958, at Guthrie Center, IA, to Gerald and Mabel (Long) Huldeen.  He was a graduate of Manning High School, Manning, IA, in 1976, and then graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Horticulture.

Kirk and Linda Hansen of Manning were married in 1983, and later divorced.

He was employed by Minolta and then ADP in Pasadena, CA.  In 1994, he was employed by Stiefel Pharmaceuticals at Cayman Island as a landscape architect, and six years later as plant manager for the company in the Dominican Republic.  Kirk and Melissa Sanchez married in 2000 and were parents of Iandra Huldeen-Sanchez.   They later divorced.

Out of all the jobs Kirk had, his favorite was being Iandra’s Dad.  He loved her most out of this world, raised her in the church, and would always make sure she was happy.  He also made sure to always be there, not only for her, but all of her friends and loved ones.  He truly dedicated his life to being a father as described in the Bible.

Kirk was a member of the Tryhedren Bow Club while in Sioux City.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church, LCMS.  In 2014, Kirk attended Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City for semi driving, and then was employed by Jones Feed and Grain Trucking Company of Wynot, NE, until his death.

Kirk is survived by his daughter, Iandra Huldeen-Sanchez; his brother, Jay (Judy) Huldeen; his mother, Mabel Huldeen; and his cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Huldeen; sister, Kala (Huldeen) Zanoni; and his brother-in-law, Michael Zanoni.
