Sioux City - Kristina "Krissy" Mutter, 22, of Sioux City went home to her momma on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Merrill Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Krissy was born on Sept. 21, 1990, in Sioux City, the daughter of Jeanne Van Tassell. She graduated from East High in 2010. She worked at Mid-Step Work Center as a shipping and labeling clerk for three years.
Krissy enjoyed bringing joy to all her family and friends, especially those at Courage Homes. She loved stemming scarfs, being outside and listening to Elvis music. In 1999, she received an award for having the best smile.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Allison and James Santee of South Sioux City, Sonya Hathaway and her fiance, Brett Powell of South Sioux City, Laura Hathaway and Donald Witzka of Sioux City, Bill Hathaway and Kelly Grunig of Sioux City, and Spencer Mutter of Sioux City; 10 nephews; eight nieces; and two grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by her momma, Jeanne; her big brother, Jimmy; two nephews; and four nieces.
