LaDonna Rae Christiansen (Krayenhagen)

March 16, 1947 — August 4, 2009

SIOUX CITY -- LaDonna Rae Christiansen, 62, of Sioux City was called to heaven Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following a courageous battle with COPD.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Chaplain Mike Inman officiating. There will be no graveside service, the body will be cremated following the service Saturday. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

LaDonna was born March 16, 1947, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the daughter of August and Helen Krayenhagen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Cushing, Iowa, United Methodist Church. She was raised in the Cushing area.

She and Rollin Joens were married from 1963 to 1978. They had two children during their marriage. She and Bob Seibold were married from 1979 to 1983. They were blessed with one child during their marriage. She and Lamoyne Christiansen were united in marriage on April 4, 1989. She worked at John Morrell for 20 years before becoming disabled.

She enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved them dearly and had a special place for each of them in her heart.

Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 20 years, Lamoyne; her three children and spouses, Brad and Patti Joens of Galva, Iowa, Jennifer and Jim Holcomb of Sioux City and Brian Seibold of Sioux City; two stepsons, Shane Christiansen of Anthon, Iowa, and Eric Christiansen of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Colby, Rosie and Kenny Joens, Jonathan and Alyssa Holcomb and Bret Seibold; three sisters, Ruth Tuneberg of Denver, Colo., Connie Richardson of Rockford, Ill., and Dorothy and her husband, Lawrence Timmerman of Holstein, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Loween Krayenhagen of Holstein; many nieces and nephews; and a small group of special friends.

She is joined in heaven with her parents; a brother, Don; a sister, Ethel; and two nephews, Danny and Tommy.

LaDonna touched many lives and will always be remembered for her kindness to everyone. She will be missed. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time of our great sorrow.
