Lamoyne Arlo Christiansen, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at a local nursing home in Sioux City, Iowa.
Lamoyne was born on March 26, 1949, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Arlo and Karla (Ohlrich) Christiansen. He graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview, Nebraska, in 1967. Lamoyne served his country in multiple branches of the military – he served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971 during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He later joined the Iowa Air National Guard from 1983 to 1991 before being medically discharged.
Between his time in the military, Lamoyne moved to Jackson, Nebraska, and married Marianne Schoulties. The couple later divorced in 1986. Lamoyne moved to Moville, Iowa, in 1988, and, in 1989, married LaDonna R. Joens. The couple later settled in Sioux City in 1998 and were together until LaDonna’s passing in 2009. Lamoyne worked at various employers, such as AMPI as a field representative, IBP in the packing industry, Floyd Valley Pack and John Morrell, and Corrugated Box – Smurfit Stone Container.
In his spare time, Lamoyne enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, football (Chiefs fan), and baseball (Cardinals fan). He was a member of St. James Global Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 697.
Lamoyne is survived by his children: Shane Christiansen, Eric (Jackie) Christiansen, Jennifer (Chad) Schoonover, Brad Joens, Brian Seibold, sisters: Dorthy (Lawrence), Joan Hartman, Yvonne Grimmius, grandchildren: Shadonis, Kiara, Jordan, Samantha, Brecken, Caden, Logan; Jereme, Aubree, Noah; Jonathan (Emily), Alyssa (Destin), Adrianna, Isabella; Colby, Rosie, Kenny (Katelyn); Bret, Alsatia; great grandchildren: Kamerion, Mateo; Jaycie, Bella, Jove, Palmer; Wynonna; Brynn, Blayne, and Liam.
He is preceded by: wife: LaDonna Christiansen, brother in laws: Fred Madsen, Hank Grimmius, Galen Hartman, and granddaughter; Jordan.
