SIOUX CITY -- Larry E. Frohman, 71, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Epiphany, with the Rev. Brent Lingle officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Larkin Chapel.
Larry was born in Sioux City, the son of Frank and Mildred (Rice) Frohman. He grew up and attended school in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School. He attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.
He married Frances Fitzgibbon in 1972. She passed away in 2008.
He was employed with the Air National Guard for 26 years. He later worked for ABC Travel and 3 Rivers Transportation.
He was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany. He sang in the church choir.
He was involved with Siouxland Informational Group for the Blind, serving as president since 1998. He enjoyed OPUS, going to Okoboji, family events, scary movies (Halloween was his favorite holiday) and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Deanna Hyres (David Welch) of Sioux City, Christina (Joey) Hoefling of Odebolt, Iowa, and Michael Frohman of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Tabitha and Samantha Hyres and Amber, Carter, Elizabeth and Zachary Hoefling; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a brother, Cliff; and a sister, Gloria.
