Leo Dennis Trobaugh, 71, of Sioux City passed away Dec. 27, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. A reception will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born on April 21, 1943, in Sioux City, to Dennis Edward and Vivian Rosebud (Jessip) Trobaugh. He attended Sioux City Central High School and later received degrees in welding and carpentry. At John Morrell, Leo was able to work his way into a management position. Leo made many lifelong friends during his time at John Morrell, where he was employed for nearly 25 years.
Leo had a passion for cars and racing. He had many other hobbies including softball, handball, and basketball. Leo played these sports for multiple local leagues well into his retirement. In addition, he was an avid collector with an extensive and unique pencil sharpener and yoyo collection. Leo led an active life camping, hunting, and fishing with friends. He was also an active member of the Elks Club and often referred to it as his second home.
Leo loved life and lived every second to the fullest. He genuinely cared for others and his sense of humor and fun personality will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his son, Troy Trobaugh, Todd Trobaugh, and Cory Trobaugh; a daughter, Kelly Trobaugh; grandchildren, Alyse, Samantha, Mitchell, and Jackson; and a great-grandchild, Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
