LeRoy Paul Jones, 65, of Sioux City died Friday, May 2, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

LeRoy was born on March 4, 1943, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Roy and Doris (Waterbury) Jones. He was raised by his grandparents. LeRoy grew up and attended school in Dakota City, and later attended and graduated in 1960 from Yankton (S.D.) High School. He served in the U.S. Army, Company F, 40th Patton Armor Division and was stationed in Berlin, Germany.
He married JoAnne Doran on Oct. 23, 1965, in Yankton. They moved to Sioux City in 1969, and resided here since that time. LeRoy was an industrial engineer at Prince Manufacturing and Schaeff for 25 years. He was currently employed at Pepsi of Siouxland.
Leroy enjoyed history, reading, sports, being a Cubs fan, the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnne (Doran) Jones; a daughter, Kristi and Earl Jones; a son, Patrick Jones; and grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua Jones, all of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
