MOVILLE, Iowa -- Lila Pearl Howard, 86, of Moville died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Moville United Methodist Church. Lila was born July 23, 1924, in Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Clara (McConnell) Mitchell. She graduated from Climbing Hill (Iowa) High School.
Lila married Wayne Howard on Jan. 12, 1945, in Lawton, Iowa. They made their home in Moville. Wayne died on Sept. 25, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, Gary and Sue Howard of Moville, Randy and Joyce Howard of Midland, Mich., and Kirk and Molly Howard of Glendale, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Kristin and Matt Johnson of Shawnee, Kan.; four grandsons, Trent and Lisa Howard of Edmond, Okla., Shaun Howard and his fiancee, Renee Pontious of Grand Rapids, Mich., Brian Howard of Midland, and Jaden Howard of Glendale; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Schuldt of Sioux City; and a brother, John and Evelyn Mitchell of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Clara Mitchell; her husband, Wayne Howard; a sister, Marvel Hartle; and three brothers, Duane, Howard and Neal Mitchell.
