SIOUX CITY -- Lillian J. Lorimor, 84, of Sioux City died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at her home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Chaplain Randy Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

Lillian was born Feb. 25, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Pembrook) Bass on a farm in Dixon County, Neb. She attended school in Dixon County and graduated from Tingley High School in Tingley, Iowa.
Lillian married A. Lee Lorimor on April 22, 1944. Together they made their home on a farm near Tingley, then Mount Ayr, Iowa, and finally the Lawton, Iowa, area in the late 1950s. Lillian worked for Wincharger/Zenith Corp. She then worked as a baker for Sioux City Bakery, Green Gables, Martin's Truck Stop and Boulevard Food Store. Lee died March 25, 1980.
Lillian had been a past member of Third Presbyterian Church and Morningside Church of Christ. She had been a den mother for the Cub Scouts. Lillian loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, fishing and boating.
Survivors include her sons, Jim and June Lorimor of Sioux City, Randy and Joanne Lorimor of New Tazwell, Tenn., Ed Lorimor of Gordon, Neb., Allen and Rhonda Lorimor of Sioux City, Larry and Lisa Lorimor of Allen, Neb., and Kevin Lorimor of Sioux City; two daughters, Lila and Charles Fiscus of South Sioux City, and Eileen and Thomas McNaughton of Fordland, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Vern and Glen Bass; and six sisters, Zadia Backman, Ella Kingston, Burnis Martinson, Phyllis Westerman, Vera Bass and Mabel Bass.
