Lillian Agnes Rogers was born March 17, 1911, in rural Moville Township, to Chris and Agnes (Scheelhaase) Schieuer. She lived most of her life in the Moville area.

She married Earl E. Rogers on Oct. 8, 1935, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa. When her husband went to serve in the military, she was busy taking care of two small children at home. She worked as a domestic housekeeper for several years. Earl passed away Jan. 16, 1994. In 2001, she moved to Char-Mac Assisted Living in Lawton. She always proclaimed, "this is a good place to be if you can't be in your own home." She never spent time alone in her apartment, she wanted to enjoy the company of others. She celebrated her 98th birthday on St. Patrick's Day with her family.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Women's Catholic Guild of Moville. She also was a member of Moville Senior Center, where she enjoyed meals, playing cards and socializing. She was a hard worker and enjoyed planting a large vegetable and flower garden. She spent many hours canning, baking and sewing. The couple spent much of their retirement life traveling on bus tours and their favorite was a trip to Hawaii.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia and Walt Kabisch and Carmen and Jon Hess, all of Moville; a brother, Kenneth and Loretta Schieuer of Anthon, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; a son, James E. Rogers; five brothers, Fred, Harry, Harold, Roy and Merton; and five sisters, Mae Hackett, Emma Kuhn, Vesta Schieuer, Vera Klemmensen and Maxine Schieuer.
