SIOUX CITY -- Lillian V. Stephen, 96, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be 10:45 a.m. Friday in the Resurrection Chapel at Holy Spirit Retirement Home, with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday in the Holy Spirit Chapel. The Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Lillian was born on March 29, 1914, in Arlington, S.D., the daughter of Herman and Frances (Fasbender) Eichhorst. She was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1932. Lillian came to Sioux City in 1940 from O'Neill, Neb. In Sioux City, she worked for 30 years at the Sunshine Food Store. Lillian was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany.
Survivors include a son, Robert and Yvonne of Hereford, Ariz.; two daughters, Joanne Marx of Sioux City, and Janet and William Needham of Omaha, Neb.; her grandchildren, Michael Stephen, David Marx, Thomas Marx, Theresa Johnson, Jennifer Marx, Suzanne Marx, Craig Marx, Kevin Marx, William Needham, Lori Furlong, Steven Needham and Penny Laferriere; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genevieve Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Emily Johnson; a son-in-law, Wally Marx; and her brothers and sisters.
Lillian's grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Holy Spirit Retirement Home or Hospice of Siouxland.
