Linda Marie (Ainslie) Flory, 69, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at her home following a brave battle with cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 1201 W. Clifton, in Sioux City. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave.
Linda was born on Sept. 21, 1945, in Sioux City, to Donald and Charlotte Ainslie.
On Oct. 21, 1966, she married William "Bill" Flory in Hayward, Calif. As a military daughter and wife, she had the opportunity to live all over the United States and in Japan and Guam. When Bill retired in 1982 they moved back to Sioux City to stay.
Linda spent many years at home with her eight children. When they were older, she returned to work and enjoyed many years working in the offices of Dr. Gardner, Dr. Prince, Swanson's Heating and Air, and Wrenn's Plumbing & Heating. Recently, she loved volunteering at St. Luke's Medical Center.
Linda loved reading, and could always be found with a book. She also loved music, singing with the Sioux City Master Chorale for several years and accompanying services at church. Linda was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and spent a lifetime serving others. She practiced what she preached and was a shining example to those around her with her unconditional love. She also made the best bread.
Linda is survived by her husband, Bill; her eight children, Karen (Phil) Uhl of Utah, Irene (Eric) Palmer of Indiana, Douglas Flory of Sioux City, Nathan (Perla) Flory of Sioux City, Sarah (Owen) Martin of Colorado, Matthew Flory of Arizona, James Flory of Arizona, and Robin (Rob) Harris of Alabama; her 13 grandchildren; her sister, Janet; and brothers, Charles and Richard.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
