Linda Marie Hayden, 59, of Sioux City died suddenly Monday, May 26, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Cliff Wilkinson officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in city of Manning Cemetery, Manning, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Linda was born Dec. 3, 1948, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Florence (Bolte) Dethlefsen. She was raised in the Manning, Iowa, area. She attended country schools around Denison and graduated from Denison High School in 1967. She moved to South Sioux City in 1970 and later moved to Sioux City. She had worked at Zenith Corp. until its closing, then was a good mother and homemaker for her family.
She married Arthur V. Hayden on Aug. 15, 1992, in Sioux City. Arthur passed away Aug. 2, 2006, in Sioux City.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved to crochet, watch classic television shows and most recently American Idol. She was an avid fan of WWE and attended their events when in Sioux City. She loved anything Elvis and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Sarah and Samuel Couchman of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Brooklin, Kada and twins, Tytan and Thor; two sisters, Helen and Allan Weber of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and LaJune and Ted Miller of Buck Grove, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Jane Graff of Seward, Neb., and Gwen Dethlefsen of Mesa, Ariz.; a friend, Sharon Brunssen of Hibbing, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Maurice, Frederick, Richard and Morris in infancy; an aunt who raised her, Helen Emma Ranson; and many other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Sam Couchman, Robin Baker, Kent Crandall, Dennis Wirth, Robert Miller and Rick Dennis.
A memorial had been established in her name in care of the family.
