Lisa K. Nelson, 55, of Sioux City died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at a local hospital.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Lisa was born on Dec. 29, 1958, in Sioux City, the daughter of Raymond and Nancy (Adams) Noble. She attended school in Sioux City, graduating from West High School. Lisa enjoyed working with people and collecting strays including Amy’s best friend, Laura. For a while, Lisa lived and enjoyed her time at Beaver Lake with her sister.
Lisa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gatherings with family and friends as often as possible. She also liked to read and play word find.
Lisa is survived by two sons, George Nelson of Sioux City, and Jeramiah Nelson and fiancee, Megan of Sioux City; a daughter, Amy Jo (Jamie) Lange of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, little George, Virginia, Luna, Aurora, Jerald, Fred and Brenda; three stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Jesse and Elizabeth; lifelong partner, Gerry Rains; siblings, Ken (Jan) Noble, LeAnne (Phil) Lamoureux, Jim (Kathy) Noble, Lorri (Dave) Whitesell and Pete (Tammy) Noble; and a stepsister, Mindi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Nancy; and stepmother, Susan Noble.
