Lloyd R. Kilker, 90, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, 5206 Military Road, with Pastor Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lloyd R. Kilker was born Dec. 20, 1917, to Erwin and Helen (Swain) Kilker in Tyndall, S.D. He attended and graduated from Tyndall High School with the class of 1935. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.
Lloyd and Angeline "Jean" Meints were married on Feb. 28, 1944, in Muskogee, Okla. Lloyd worked as an implement salesman and dealer for different companies in the tri-state area, retiring from FIMCO in 1985. Lloyd and Jean moved to the Sioux City area in 1961.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; sons, Gary of Enterprise, Ala., and John and his wife, Glenda of Gillette, Wyo.; sisters, Lois Vogel and Marjorie Kilker of Tyndall, S.D.; three grandchildren, Tabitha and her husband, Kevin Walker, Christina and Scott Kilker; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Evan Walker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald; and a sister in infancy.
