Lois R. Bookhart, 87, of Sioux City died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2915 Glenn Ave., with Dr. John H. Pehrson officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church following the interment service in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Lois Roberta Semple was born March 26, 1921, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Vera (Morehead) Semple. She grew up in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School.
Lois married James F. Bookhart on Christmas Eve, 1941. They were a military family living in California, Nebraska, Colorado, New York, North Carolina and Illinois before returning to Sioux City. Mr. Bookhart preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2006.
Survivors include her son, Jim Bookhart; a grandson, Bob Bookhart; a daughter-in-law, Neva Bookhart; as well as several nieces and nephews.
