Lois M. Ellsworth (Teague)

January 24, 1931 — March 6, 2011

SIOUX CITY -- Lois M. Ellsworth, 80, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, March 6, 2011, at her home.
Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Dan Doran will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until service time Wednesday, with the family present after 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
Lois was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Schaller, Iowa, the daughter of Lemuel and Audra (Rowe) Teague. She attended high school in Schaller and graduated in 1949. She then attended and graduated from the Samuel's School of Beauty in Sioux City. She worked as a beautician for two years.
On Jan. 23, 1954, she married Donald A. Ellsworth in Sioux City, becoming a homemaker and living in Leeds the rest of her life. Don died on Nov. 15, 1997 in Sioux City.
Lois attended the First Evangelical Free Church in Sioux City for many years and was a former MOPS babysitter there and at two other area churches. She also enjoyed bird watching, working on jigsaw puzzles and word searches. She was a huge basketball and baseball fan, especially for the Chicago Cubs. The most important part of her life was her family, especially her two grandchildren
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Lori and Tim Doran of Sioux City, and Gail and Don Rider of South Sioux City; her son, Joe Ellsworth of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Greg Rider; her brother, Dudley Teague of Manhattan, Kan.; her sister, Naomi Shaeffer of Storm Lake, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Dee Ellsworth of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters; and four brothers.
