Lois E. Malloy, 59, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Funeral Home -- Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 7 p.m. and a prayer vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

Lois Eva Reiling was born May 1, 1948, in Onawa, Iowa, to Bennie and Nadene (Andersen) Reiling. She attended schools in Sioux City.
On April 8, 1967, Lois and Richard "Dick" Malloy were married in Salix, Iowa. Lois worked at Zenith, Donnelly Marketing and Gateway.
She was a member of Church of the Nativity and was active in the ladies groups at the church. Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, her dogs and was into genealogy. Lois was very loyal to her family and friends.
Survivors include her mother, Nadene of Onawa, Iowa; her husband, Dick of Sioux City; sons, Kelly and Shain, both of Sioux City; grandchildren, Derek Malloy and special friend, Kali Closter, Shawn, Dillan and Kelsey, all of Sioux City; brothers, Roger and wife, Carla of Turin, Iowa, and Ronald of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lois is also survived by a special friend, Connie Curl, whose friendship lasted for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her father.
