Lois Darlene McNaughton (Solberg)

LAWTON, Iowa -- Lois Darlene McNaughton, 80, of Lawton died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Kingsley Nursing & Rehab in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCullough Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 429 South Street, Moville, Iowa.

Lois was born March 12, 1929, at Sioux City, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Dockweiler) Solberg. She grew up near Lawton, and attended Banner Township, graduating from Lawton High School. Lois married Delbert McNaughton on Sept. 10, 1950. Together they farmed near Lawton. Delbert died Feb. 14, 2007.

Lois was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton and the F.A.N. Club. She enjoyed playing cards, reading local news and books, quilting, raising chickens and selling their eggs.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda and Thomas Carr of Moville; two sons, Larry and Erline McNaughton of Lawton, and Ronald and Sherri McNaughton of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Alicia and Jamey Bremer of Omaha, Neb., Michael and Lynn Carr of Boone, Iowa, Molly and Jon Firkins of Austin, Texas, Lee McNaughton of Lawton, Jill and Jen McNaughton of Kansas City, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leland Solberg of Lawton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Martha Leona Solberg; and a sister-in-law, Betty Solberg.
