Lois C. Sowers, 85 of Sioux City, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida passed away February 11, 2010 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Lois was born in Lebanon, PA to Ralph and Cordelia (Rodarmel) Miller grew up and attended school and graduated from Redding, PA High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Sowers, in 1945 in PA. Her husband preceded her in death in 1987. They resided in the PA area until 1967 when the family moved to Appleton, WI area until 1976 when she moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She resided there until 2008 when she moved to the Sioux City area. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, FL. She enjoyed playing golf and traveling around the world.
She is survived by sons, Brian Sowers and Hart of Greensboro, NC. Dave and Angela Sowers of Sgt. Bluff, IA; son-in-law, Rick Pink of Carey, NC; grandchildren, Jill and Dale Hodges, Nick Sowers, Eric and Kate Pink, Ryan Pink, Emily, Ben, Alexa, and Caleb Sowers; 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Linda Pink, and one brother.
Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard, Jacksonville. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Park, Jacksonville with Pastor Dave Sowers officiating.
