Loraine V. Long

Loraine V. Long, 90, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at her home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 3636 Aspenwood Street in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Loraine was born on April 3, 1926, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Young) Dorr. Loraine was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1945.
On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Kenneth Long in Franklin Park, Ill. The couple lived in Sioux City until they moved to Torrance, Calif. in 1952, where they lived for 57 years. Loraine was in sales for the Founders Insurance Co. and also sold Avon until they moved back to Sioux City in 2007. Kenneth passed away on March 23, 2016, in Sioux City.
Loraine was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Kent and David, both of Torrance, Calif.; her former daughter in law, Tarin Long of Torrance; three grandchildren, Darin Long of Sioux City, Danielle Long of Torrance, and Chelsea Long of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; her brothers, William, Stanley and Ralph Dorr; and her sister, June Camarigg.
