SIOUX CITY | Lorene O. Haire, 83, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be 10:30 Thursday at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a reception with the family immediately following the service at 95 West Clifton. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Lorene was born on Oct. 18, 1928, in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of John and Otilia (Schleimer) Erlemeier. She attended school at St. Joseph High School.
Lorene married George Haire on July 14, 1947. They made their home in Sioux City. Lorene worked as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent and Marian Health Care Hospitals. George died on Jan. 22, 2012.
Lorene was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She loved being outside working with her flowers. She also enjoyed her dogs and going camping in her earlier years.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda and Vernon Brown of Sioux City, and Nancy and Bill McFarland of Westfield, Iowa; three sons, Michael and Maureen Haire of Sioux City, Steven Haire of Akron, Iowa, and Ricky Haire of Jackson, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen Sardeson of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; a great-grandson, Tyler Brown; and a brother, Eugene Erlemeier.
