Lorna Marie Rembe (Hageman)

SIOUX CITY -- Lorna M. Rembe, 77, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Denzer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Lorna Marie Hageman was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Hinton, Iowa, to Herman and Ella (Vohs) Hageman. She attended country school east of Leeds. The family moved to a farm east of Hinton, where she attended country school. She graduated from Hinton High School with the class of 1950 as the valedictorian. While in high school, she was very active in sports, starting in basketball and softball.
Lorna and James L. Rembe were married on Oct. 4, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Hinton. She later became a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. Lorna worked as a secretary for Jolly Time Popcorn and New York Life Insurance Company prior to becoming secretary for Jim's business, Jim Rembe Construction.
She was in the PTA at St. Paul Lutheran School and room mother at Nodland Elementary School. Lorna sold Avon and enjoyed board games and attending country music concerts. Lorna and Jim loved to jitterbug dance and she was involved and active in their children's activities. She was an excellent bowler and a member of the Woman's International Bowling Association from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Lorna is survived by her son, Steven of Burbank, S.D.; daughter, Sandy and husband, Kit Curry of Gresham, Ore.; son, Jim Jr. and wife, Wendy of Lawson, Mo.; daughter, Deanna Cameron of Sergeant Bluff; son, Richard and wife, Shelly of Sioux City; daughters, Lisa Rembe and Lori Rembe of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, Joshua and wife, Angela Rembe, Jenny Rembe, Jodi Rembe, Dustin Bagdasarian, Kyle Bagdasarian, Taryn Bagdasarian, Charlie and wife, Becky Curry, Jesse and wife, Nikalia Curry, Miranda Rembe, Landen Rembe, Brittany Frederickson, Cierra Frederickson, Taylor Cameron, Jamee Rembe, Julea Rembe and Ryan Givens; seven great-grandchildren, Aiden Rembe, Anna Marie Rembe, Audrey Curry, Leah Curry, Braden Curry, Gaby Howard and Izzy Howard; sister, Eleanor and husband, Leonard Marienau of Ireton, Iowa; brother, Darrell and wife, Peggy Hageman of Hinton; sister, Norma and husband, Larry Kavarna of Hinton; sister-in-law, Lenore Hageman of Hinton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim in 1999; brothers, William in 1947 and Stan in 2010; and daughter Debra Bagdasarian in 1998.
