Lorraine Dorothy Martin, 82, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Countryside Nursing & Rehab following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. David Zirpel officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to

Lorraine was born May 31, 1925, in Sioux City, the daughter of Vern and Clara (Ahrens) Miille. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from East High School. Lorraine continued her education and graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing.
She married Raymond R. Martin on Jan. 26, 1948, in Sioux City. Lorraine worked many years as a surgical and physician's nurse and was head surgical nurse at St. Vincent's for many years, a position in which she took great pride. Raymond died in 1983.
Lorraine enjoyed listening to her short wave radio, reading, listening to country western music and interacting with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Dwayne and Anita Martin of Kansas City, Mo.; a granddaughter and her husband, Alecia and Justin Augspurg of Chelsea, Mass.; a grandson, Jared Martin of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother and his wife, Dwayne and Gayle Miille of Sioux City; and a sister and her husband, Phyllis and Donald Johnson of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Clara Miille; her husband, Ray; and two brothers, Darrell and Kenneth Miille.
