Louise Catherine Bernoski, 86, a lifelong resident of Sioux City died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.
Private family graveside service were held July 30 in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.christysmith.com .
She was born on Nov. 8, 1926, in Sioux City, to Anton and Mary (Tokarczyk) Bernoski. Louise graduated from Cathedral High School and Briar Cliff University.
She was a member of the St. Francis Parish for 71 years until it was closed in 1998. Currently, she was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany. Louise was a charter member of Trinity Heights Queen of Peace and a member of Mary Treglia Golden Age Club.
Surviving are two brothers, James and RoseMary Bernoski of Seattle, Wash., and Edward and Irene Bernoski of Seattle; a sister, Genevieve Bailey of Yakima, Wash.; 16 nephews; and 20 nieces.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter and Theodore; and five sisters, Stella, Nelly, Helen, Dorothy, and Mary.
