Louise A. Fetterman

June 8, 1931 — February 11, 2014

Moville, Iowa - Louise Fetterman, 82, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, formerly of Moville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in Spirit Lake.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Louise was born on June 8, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of Wayne and Pauline (Nelson) Phillips. She graduated from East High School in 1950. After graduation, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and Aalfs Mfg. Co. until her marriage.
Louise married Carl Fetterman, her soul mate and the love of her life, on Oct. 11, 1952, in Fremont, Neb. Carl became an ordained minister. Louise served beside Carl at churches in Dunlap, Iowa, Webb, Iowa, Breckenridge, Minn., and Hot Springs, S.D. They returned to Sioux City in 1978 and served a church in North Sioux City, before moving to Moville in 1993.
Louise continued her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College. She became a personal care nursing assistant. She worked at both Unity Point Health St. Luke's and Mercy Hospitals, retiring in 1996. She was then a private care giver at NorthPark Senior Living. Carl died on Aug. 25, 2000, in Moville. Louise moved to assisted living in Spirit Lake in June 2011.
Louise loved her family very much. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts, sewing, and making her special apple cobbler.
Survivors include four sons and one daughter, Terry and Robin Fetterman of Anthon, Iowa, Timothy and Linda Fetterman of Moville, Dan Fetterman of Sioux City, Susan and Carl Crosgrove of Okoboji, Iowa, and Jeff and Andrea Fetterman of Moville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and her twin in infancy.
