MOVILLE, Iowa -- Louise Fay Griep, 88, of Sioux City, formerly of Moville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, with the Rev. David Miller of Southern Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to

Louise Fay Creekmur was born Aug. 25, 1921, on the family farm in Moville. She attended and graduated from Moville High School with the class of 1939. After high school, she attended Westmar College for two years to get her teaching certificate. She taught school in a one-room country schoolhouse in Little Egypt. She later worked as a waitress in the Moville Cafe.
Louise and H. Russell Griep were married on Sept. 3, 1951, in Moville.
Louise attended the Evangelical Church in Moville, among others in the area.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorna and husband, Michael Luse of Sioux City; son, Ronald Griep; a grandson, Chris Luse of Sioux City; a sister, Roberta Cox of Moville; a brother Howard and wife, Marilyn Creekmur of Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell in 2007; sisters, Ilo Metcalf and Fay Creekmur; brother, Donald Creekmur; and two siblings in infancy.
