Sioux City - Louise E. Koch, 93, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Whispering Creek Senior Living.
A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Louise was born on May 28, 1920, in Sioux City, to Forest and Lillie (Rainey) Cairy. She graduated from East High in 1938 and attended Morningside College, where she played women’s basketball.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Koch on Dec. 21, 1940, in Sioux City.
Louise enjoyed bridge, golf, watching sporting events, and traveling. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was very near and dear to her heart. Louise was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church for her entire 93 years of life.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Kay (Bob) Wells of Ottumwa, Iowa, Larry (JoAnn) Koch of Baltimore, Md., Tom (Durand) Koch of Cornelius, N.C., Barb (Mike) Foister of Sioux City, and Linda (David) Kellen of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Saltwell of Park Ridge, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Gary Linn; sister, Doris Gregalunas; and brother, Dr. Clyde Cairy.
