Louise Helen Marquardt, 98, of Sioux City died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Louise was born on a Thursday, Jan. 18, 1917, in McAlester, Okla., the daughter of T.J. LaFevers and Blanch (Donnely) LaFevers. She was raised in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1936.
In 1937, she married Iris Ramsey in McAlester. They later divorced. Louise married Ernest Marquardt on July 15, 1950, in Fort Smith, Ark. They came to Sioux City in the early 1950s and later moved to Worthington, Minn. Ernest died in Worthington in 1981. Louise worked for Wellers Manufacturing in Sioux City for 13 years and at the Campbell Soup Co. in Worthington for two years. She retired in 1963. Louise returned to Sioux City after her husband died.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two grandsons, Kevin (Bobbi) Martinsen of Kingsley, Iowa, and Michael Martinsen of San Antonio, Texas; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and son-in-law, James (Annette) Horan of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; her daughter, Barbara J. Horan; son, Ronald Ramsey; four brothers, Clyde, Clarence, Orbra and Warren LaFevers; and her sister, Nona Cantrell.
