Louise Frances Wingfield, 87, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Embassy Healthcare in Sergeant Bluff.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Third Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Louise was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Sioux City, to Rickard and Agnes (Anderson) Molden. She attended Sioux City Schools and graduated from East High School in 1945.
Louise was united in marriage to William Wingfield on Oct. 8, 1949, at Third Presbyterian Church. They were lifelong residents of Sioux City.
She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and was in the choir for 55 years. Louise enjoyed singing, puzzles, socializing with friends, traveling, Empty Nesters dinners, and was a member of NARFE for retired federal employees and the Can-do-ettes. She was employed at Northern Bell and later at Younkers-Martin and Davidson, retiring in 1971.
Those left to honor her memory include her five children, Cynthia (Don) Sardeson of Ankeny, Iowa, Michael (Stacy) Wingfield of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Sandra (Greg) Shaffer of Elizabeth, Colo., Roderick Wingfield of Aurora, Colo., and Anita (Doug) Wingfield-Milner of Renner, S.D.; sister, Naomi Pettit of Sioux City; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special cousin, Carole Steffen, Sioux City
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Bud and Don; sister, Anita Molden; and brother-in-law, John Pettit.
