Lowell C. Anderson

Lowell C. Anderson, 80, died Friday, October 22, 2021, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, IA.

A family directed visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021, at St. James United Methodist Church in Sioux City. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, at St. James United Methodist. A private burial will take place in Graceland Park Cemetery. Lowell C. Anderson, the son of Clifford and Helen (Blixt) Anderson was born September 15, 1941, in Sioux City, IA. He graduated from East High School in 1959. Lowell worked at his uncle’s gas station before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He served honorably for two years before his discharge in 1969. Lowell remained in the Army reserves for the next few years.

On February 26, 1966, Lowell was united in marriage with Vicki Jensen in Sioux City. He was employed as a mail carrier for 42 years, and was known as Andy by his colleagues, he retired in 2006.

Lowell was a member of St. James United Methodist Church for 75 years. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye and Cubs fan and loved watching any hockey game. He could not take his daily walk without a stop at the Dairy Queen and he enjoyed nothing more than Jerry’s Pizza. He loved his food.

Lowell is survived by his wife, Vicki of Sioux City; children, Jeff (Sundee) Anderson of Sioux City, Amy (Curt) Martin of Overland Park, KS, Jim (Paiton Robertson) Anderson of Sioux City; grandchildren, Christopher, Zach, Alex, Sarah, Casey, Gracyn, Trey and Vincent; nine granddogs; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to St. James United Methodist Church or St. Croix Hospice.
