SIOUX CITY -- Lynette Evelyn Robbins, 88, of Sioux City passed away Feb. 3, 2011, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. John Pehrson officiating. Private graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. led by Jon Moravec, chaplain at Sunrise Retirement Community, at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Lynette was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Merrill, Iowa, to Ernest and Blanche (Lyle) Luksan. She moved to Sioux City with the family at the age of 1, and had been a resident here ever since. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from East High School in 1941.
On July 16, 1945, she married Clifford L. Robbins at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He passed away on March 9, 1998, in Sioux City. She was employed with Fishgalls for 20 years.
She was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and was an ordained elder and a deacon in the church. She and Cliff were also members of the Cutter's Club at Westminster. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, cooking, crocheting, decorating, entertaining, traveling, her flower garden as well as having coffee with her many friends. She volunteered at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in the gift shop for a number of years.
Survivors include her children, Judy and Jim Skoglund of Sergeant Bluff, Chuck and Joy Robbins of Omaha, Debby and Michael Wiggs of Sioux City, and Susy and Dan Folger of Oconomowoc, Wis.; her grandchildren, Todd and Jenny Skoglund of Sergeant Bluff, Aaron Skoglund of Omaha, Lance and Amy Robbins of Springfield, Mo., Christopher Folger of Oshkosh, Wis., and Sarah Folger of Oconomowoc; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emma and Ethan Skoglund, Charlie Ann, McKenzie and Alexandria Robbins; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Cameron Michael Wiggs; her mother, Blanche; and her stepfather, Dwight Fear.
