Lynne Rae Mc Bride, 61 of Sioux City died on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 10:00am Monday, December 14, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeffrey Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00m to 8:00pm Sunday at the Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a prayer service will be said at 7:00pm.
Lynne was born on April 14, 1954 in rural Soldier, Iowa. She was the daughter of Raymond and C. Maxine (Longlee) Thoreson. She moved to the Sioux City area at the age of two. She graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1972 and the she attended Western Iowa Tech.
On September 11, 1982 she married Philip McBride in Sioux City.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Nutra Flo, Fimco and then Kvidera until it closed. She retired on December 31, 2014.
She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran church and was very active in the church. Lynne served on the church council and with the youth group and several other groups at the church.
Lynne loved people, she loved entertaining and did most of the entertaining for family gatherings. She loved cooking and took a great interest in all the people she met.
Survivors include her husband, Phil of Sioux City, her son, John (Brooke) of Sioux City, Her sister, Debbie (Dave) Speidel of Benton, MO, Brothers in law, Mike (Janice) McBride, Tim (Donna) McBride, sisters in law, Judy Funke, Mary McBride, Maureen (Mike) Haire, Shawn (Rick) Pyles, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers in law, Robert, Patrick and Brian McBride.
A memorial has been established in her name for Hospice of Siouxland.
