M. Kent Knudson, 79, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday July 10 at Christy Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel (located at 1801 Morningside Ave in Sioux City) with Chaplain Neil Peck officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

Kent was born March 24, 1942, to Arthur and Ruth (Human) Knudson in Buhl, Idaho. He grew up in Buhl and graduated from Castleford High School in 1960.
He served in the US Army and was proud of his service. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to begin his career in the meat business, both retail and wholesale. His career took him to many parts of the country.
His hobbies included playing golf and horseback riding. Kent loved each and every one of the friends he met through family, work, and the many interests he had throughout his life. He had an amazing love for his family, his little Scottish Terriers, and his horses.
Kent was a member of the Morningside American Legion Post # 697, the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple and Morningside Masonic Lodge 615 A F A M.
Survivors include his wife, Chris, of 46 years, daughter; Karrie (Dave) Greenwalt, brother Gary Knudson and 5 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Lones and Charles.
