M. Lee Sparks, 74, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at her residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Lee was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Woodrow and Marion (Bainbridge Dougherty) Wormley. She attended school and graduated from Kingsley High School.
She married Burton Sparks on Nov. 22, 1951. Together, they moved to Sioux City in 1956. She was a teacher's aid for 17 years.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the church circle, and the Mother's Club. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the P.E.O. Chapter IG and the Bard of Avon.
Survivors include her husband, Burton of Sioux City; six children and spouses, Mark and Roberta Sparks of Rogers, Ark., Mike and Judy Sparks of Lafayette, La., Perry and Sherry Sparks of Iowa City, Iowa, Sandra and James Ocker of Lincoln, Neb., Jerold W. Sparks of Sioux City and Kevin and Jenny Sparks of Daphne, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters and their husbands, her twin, Lou and Larry Hansen of Kingsley, Iowa, Barbara and Eugene Moser of Kingsley and Roberta and Frank Faircloth of Ocala, Fla.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Wormley and Frances Marion Bainbridge.
