Mae Ouida Rich, 86, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mae was born on May 18, 1927, in Bayard, Neb., to John and Bessie (Woods) Pearson. She lived in Alliance, Neb., until 1940, Onawa, Iowa, until 1945 and then moved to Sioux City. She worked at Woolworths from 1945 to 1953.
Mae was united in marriage to James Rich on Feb. 15, 1947. He passed away on Nov. 1, 2008.
Mae loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and playing Skip-Bo.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Connie Clark of Sioux City; son, Terry Rich of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Todd Rich, Jolene Christian, and Tammy Merryman; five great-grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, and Megan Christian, Gavin Merryman, and London Gries; brother, Charles Pearson of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and brothers, Clarence and Donald.
