Marcella A. Mings, 92, formerly of North Sioux City, SD, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at Whitney Oaks Care Center in Carmichael, CA.
A funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, IA, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in McCook Cemetery in McCook Lake, SD. Online condolensences may be expressed to the family at

Marcella Ann Molder, the daughter of John and Adeline (Meyer) Molder was born July 2, 1929, with her twin sister, Margrette, in Sioux City, IA.
Marcella was united in marriage with Harold Clay on September 13, 1947, and they had three children: Alan, Susan, and Curtis. They moved to Redding, CA in 1951 and lived there until returning to North Sioux City, SD in March of 1972. Harold passed in December of 1972.
Marcella was united in marriage with Francis “Jack” Mings on March 9, 1974, with whom she had a loving stepdaughter, Dawn. Jack passed away on April 8, 1986.
Marcella retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service. She also served as the City Council Person for North Sioux City for a number of years. Marcella helped to plan and create the Centennial Park and Veteran’s Memorial Wall in North Sioux City.
Marcella is survived by her children, Alan (Sandy) Clay of Carmichael, CA, and Susan Buelna of Redding CA; stepdaughter, Dawn (Jeff) Sander of Onawa, IA; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; a loving brother, Patrick (Linda) Molder of Marysville, CA; sister-in-law, Ella Molder; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Curtis Clay; and brother, John Molder.
