Marcia Rae (Ross) Bennett, 55, of Sioux City died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Nancy Allen of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Marcia was born on Oct. 17, 1951, in Sioux City, the daughter of Neil and Fern (Miller) Ross. She lived in Sioux City her entire life, attending school at East High School.
She married Marlin Bennett on May 15, 1982. They lived in the Morningside area. Marcia was a homemaker, a server and a bartender, and she worked at Hy-Vee throughout her life.
She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards and entertaining friends and family.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin of Sioux City; three children, Brian, Natasha and Amanda and her fiance, Steven, all of Sioux City; two brothers, Vernon and his wife, Debra Ross and Dennis Ross, all of Sioux City; and a sister, Barb and her husband, Bill McGillem of Mt. Carmel, Ill.
Marcia's love for others was shown by the great amount of people that she welcomed into her family. They are too numerous to name but are a large part of her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers.
