Marcia Lidgett (Weber)

Sioux City - Marcia A. Lidgett, 87, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Touchstone Living Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of the Nativity in Sioux City. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Marcia was born on Oct. 24, 1924, in Sioux City, to Louis and Mamie (Bays) Weber. She was raised in the Westfield and Hinton, Iowa, areas. She attended Nettleton Business College after graduating from Central High School.
In 1947, she married Jack Rourke in Anthon, Iowa, where they resided for several years before moving to Sioux City. Mr Rourke died in 1977. Marcia married Merrill Lidgett in February 1978 and resided in Sioux City until his death in July 2004. She was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone, where she worked for many years until retiring in 1980.
She was a member of Church of the Nativity, Telephone Pioneer Club, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Ave Maria Court 269. She was a volunteer with Marian Health Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Leo and Judy Lidgett of Bronson, Iowa, and Virgil and Linda Lidgett of Chatsworth, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon and Lawrence Peters of Correctionville, Iowa; two brothers, Paul and Jane Weber of Tampa, Fla., and Gordon and Phyllis Weber of La Mesa, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack Rourke and Merrill Lidgett; a daughter, Terisue Wachter; a son, Steven Lidgett; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Lidgett; a great-grandson, Bailey Sample; a sister, Dorothy Smith; a brother, Glen Weber; and a stepmother, Frances Weber.
Memorials may be directed to Mater Dei School.
