Marcia C. Young, 87, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Regency Square Nursing Home in South Sioux City, following a long illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Christy Smith Morningside Chapel.
Marcia was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Irene, S.D., to Peter and Annie (Christensen) Jensen. Marcia graduated from Bronson (Iowa) High School.
She married Gordon Young Jan. 27, 1949.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Young; son Jim (Monica) Young; grandchildren, Eric (Sara) Young, Jaime (Tyler) Blessing and Jonathan Young; great-grandchildren, Dane and Sawyer Young, and Baby Blessing; sister, Hazel Taylor; sisters-in-law, Ruth Jensen and Marge Young; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Jensen; and a sister, Opal Frazier.
