Margaret Mary Bernard (Crevier)

Jefferson, SD - Margaret Mary (Crevier) Bernard, 86, of Jefferson died June 21, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Dakota Dunes, S.D., with the Rev. Robert Lacey officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Jefferson. Visitation will be 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. today, with prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Margaret was born on Oct. 3, 1926, the daughter of Bert and Leona (Chicoine) Crevier of Jefferson. She attended grade school at Gibson School. In 1944, she graduated from Jefferson High School. She worked at Davidson’s Department Store and later at Mutual of New York Insurance for several years.
Margaret married Marcus Bernard on Aug. 23, 1948, at St. Peter's Church in Jefferson. They made their home in Jefferson. Margaret was a homemaker.
She loved decorating, sewing, cooking, entertaining guests and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her generous and outgoing nature. She made her home a place of beauty, laughter and hospitality.
Surviving are her husband, Marcus; daughter, Mary (Brad) Jones of Iowa Falls, Iowa; sons, Marc (Marilyn) of Mitchell, S.D., and Pierre (Linda) of Jefferson; a brother, Dean (Patricia) Crevier of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a sister, Pauline (Rodney) Allard of Jefferson; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Anne Wachlarowicz; a brother, Ray Crevier; and sisters, Lucille Maison and Charlotte Wilber.
