Margaret Louise Brown, 90, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Tri-State Christian Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Jim Paul officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Margaret was born May 1, 1917, in Sioux City, the daughter of George A. and Freda Marie (Hintz) Leibhart. She graduated from East High School and attended a business school in Sioux City.
On Nov. 4, 1945, she married William H. Brown in Sioux City. She lived most of her life in Sioux City. She worked for Iowa Public Service for nine years and for Midwest Energy Co. for 14 years as a secretary. William died May 1, 2006, in Sioux City.
She was a member of Tri-State Christian Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, sewing and embroidery. She loved to travel and read, and she greatly enjoyed working in her flower garden.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Marylee and James Brygger of Sioux City, Jim and Patricia Brown of St. Charles, Mo., and Deanna Kay and Steve Trexel of Coaldale, Colo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, George Jr.
A memorial has been established in her name for Hospice of Siouxland and the Tri-State Christian Church.
