Margaret M. Byers

Margaret Mary Byers, 96, of Moville died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at her residence.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. Renee Tecklenburg officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Margaret was born on Sept. 21, 1918, near Moville, the daughter of Otto and Margretha (Hansen) Rippke. She grew up near Moville and attended Moville schools.
Margaret married Ralph J. Byers on Nov. 6, 1941, at Salem Lutheran Church. They farmed north of Moville. Ralph died on May 4, 2008.
Margaret was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Gary) Iverson of Mitchell, S.D.; three sons, Craig (Nancy) Byers of Isanti, Minn., Kevin (LaVonne) Byers of Kingsley, Iowa, and Clark Byers of Moville; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and seven siblings, Sophie, Tena, Pauline, Otto, Leonard, Wilbur, and Alvin.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Siouxland, Christian Worship or Salem Lutheran Church.
