Margaret Clare Emerick, age 83, of Sioux City died Monday, February 8, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice of Siouxland
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Cathedral of Epiphany, St. Boniface Church with entombment following at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Christy-Smith, Larkin Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of William Henry and Anna (Hardy) Jordan. She attended schools in the Omaha area until she came to Sioux City and she then attended and graduated from Bishop Heelan School. She attended college in Omaha for a few years before returning to Sioux City and attending Briar Cliff University.
She was united in marriage with Gerald “Jerry” Emerick on June 24, 1961 in Sioux City. Jerry preceded her in death on December 5, 2005.
Margaret was a member of St. Boniface Church. She was employed at Mercy Medical Center in financial services for 30 years before retiring. She loved to crochet, playing card games on her computer, and visiting with her friends.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, William (Julie) Emerick, Michael (Amy) Emerick, and Jon Emerick; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; one brother; and three sisters.
