Margaret Louise Sopoci

Margaret Louise Sopoci, 97 of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota died on Friday, September 16, 2022, at a local hospital.

A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Riverside United Methodist Church located at 617 Wright Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51109 with the Rev. Elizabeth Tucker officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Riverside United Methodist Church, 617 Wright Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Margaret L. Carle was born August 16, 1925, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Ralph and Carrie (Witter) Carle. She married Frank S. Sopoci on November 6, 1946, in Parkston, SD. They moved to Riverside area of Sioux City and resided there. Frank passed away May 13, 2004. She was employed at Zortman Drug and later at Mothercare at the Southern Hills Mall before retiring to be a stay-at-home wife and mother.

Margaret was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, the Siouxland Senior Center for Active Generations, The Young at Heart Line Dancers, and the Elk Point American Legion Post 134 Auxiliary.

Margaret enjoyed line dancing, performing in the fall follies, walking, riding her bicycle, reading, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Linda Post, Cindy Langseth and (Walt Johnson) both of Sioux City and Nancy Lee and her husband Robert of Dakota Dunes, SD. six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a nephew Robert Carle and his wife Mary Jo of Bucyrus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank, son, Larry Sopoci, and her brother Robert Carle.

In lieu of flowers: family suggests memorials be directed to Riverside United Methodist Church.
