Sioux City - Marguerite Mahan, 97, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, following a brief illness, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Marguerite was born on Jan. 31, 1917, in Garryowen, (Union County) S.D., to James Patrick and Marie (Robinson) Mahan. She worked at WNAX in Yankton, S.D. before moving to Sioux City and working for Sioux Tools for more than 31 years.
Marguerite enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and numerous friends and will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her brother, Donald Mahan and his wife, Beverly of Sun City West, Ariz.; sister, Dorothy Thomas of Littleton, Colo.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Bill, Charles, Jim, and Jack.
