SIOUX CITY -- Colleen Marie Cook, 83, of Sioux City died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Colleen was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Homer, Neb., the daughter of Manuel and Ruby (Tucker) Trimble. She attended school and graduated from Homer High School. She received her teacher's certificate from Wayne (Neb.) State College. Colleen taught school at area country schools.
She married Derald Goodyear in 1948. They made their home in Sioux City. Derald died in 1994. Colleen married Donny Cook in 1998. He died in December 2010.
Colleen was an active member of First Church of Christ Scientists. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and a past member of the Persian Society. She loved to dance.
Survivors include her son, Doug (Lisa) Goodyear of Los Altos Hills, Calif.; her granddaughter, Alexandria Goodyear of St. Louis, Mo.; sisters, Maxine Eaton of Dakota Dunes, Shirley (Dale) Ross of Winnebago, Neb., and Beverly Prickett of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Gary (Sharon) Trimble of Decatur, Ala.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Derald and Donny; a brother, Don Trimble; and a brother-in-law, Lyle Eaton.
