SIOUX CITY -- Marion L. Zupp-Crowther, 79, of Sioux City, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at Touchstone Living Center in Sioux City following a brief illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sioux City Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Pointer officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery at Climbing Hill, Iowa. Marion was born June 14, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of Oamer and Argie (Metcalf) Morrison. She was raised in Climbing Hill and Sioux City, graduating from Central High School in 1950.
She married Clifford E. Zupp in 1953. Marion later married Russell Crowther in 1981. She worked at Sioux Bee Honey, Wincharger and the Palmer House Restaurant.
Marion was a devoted member of the Sioux City Baptist Church for more than 35 years and sang in the choir. She was a resident of Touchstone Living Center, where she enjoyed volunteering in several areas of the facility. Marion also enjoyed exercise class and many other activities at Touchstone.
She will be greatly missed by her survivors which include one daughter, Cindy and Frank Gray of Sioux City; two sons, Blaine and Julie Zupp and Brent Zupp, all of Le Mars, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Ryan Gray, Angela Subulwa, Jessica Zupp, Jennifer Zupp, Jared Zupp, Zachery Bales and Amber Zupp Kelm; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta and Kenny Schieuer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Clifford "Eddie" Zupp; a brother, Edward; and four sisters, Irene Roberts, June Christiansen, Violet Ferdig and Carol Christiansen.
