Marjorie K. Devine, 92, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born on Aug. 8, 1923, in Climbing Hill, to Clarence and Belle (Galbraith) Mills. She graduated from Climbing Hill High School.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Dwight Davis on March 24, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1980. They ran a service station and tank wagon business in Climbing Hill for 27 years. After retirement, they wintered in Mission, Texas, until Dwight became ill. Marjorie was later married to Robert Devine and moved to Sioux City in 1993.
She was a member of Nativity Church and enjoyed crafts, tending her flowers, reading, music, dancing, and her daily crossword puzzles. Marjorie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and her calls and visits from her best friend, Joyce Miller.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Kathy (Ray) Elam of Franklin, Texas, and Bev (David) Cahill of Cromwell, Conn.; granddaughter, Sarah (JJ) Morgan of Franklin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Seth and LeAnna Morgan of Franklin, and Allen (Kathleen) Vanya of Livingston, Texas; great-great-grandchildren, Brooke, Baileigh Anne, Bracie and Brax Vanya; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Raymond, Bud and Merle Mills; and granddaughter, Anne Marie Herman.
