Bronson, Iowa - Marjorie Louise Lewis-Kline, 92, of Des Moines, formerly of Bronson and Carroll, Iowa, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born on Nov. 30, 1921, to James and Ethel (Cooley) Lewis, in Bronson.
She was united in marriage to Earl Ping and later to Sherman Kline. She lived in Bronson, Carroll, and Scranton, Iowa, for most of her life before moving to Des Moines two years ago. While living in Scranton, she and her husband, Sherman, owned a furniture store.
She loved camping at Lakeview and visiting the beach in Florida. She enjoyed helping her daughter and son-in-law with woodworking and painting.
Those left to honor her memory include her children Bev (Staff Sgt. Leonard, USAF Retired) Meckler of Des Moines, and Donna Willis of Melbourne, Fla.; brother, Loren (Virginia) Lewis of Bronson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl and Sherman; son-in-law, Bill Willis; great-grandson, Travis Meckler; a brother, Harold Lewis; and sister, Lola Arnold.
